ESCAPE_ Paros

 The smooth, sculpted
 granite formations of
 Kolymbithres Beach
 rise from crystal-clear
 waters, creating a
 surreal seascape that
 feels both ancient
 and otherworldly.

they collapse into a rich, earthy stew. And all of it
washed down with souma, the fiery local spirit that
carries the warmth of Paros itself in every sip.

A FESTIVAL OF LIGHT AND SHADOW
But Paros is not just a place to visit—it’s a place to
celebrate. The island’s festivals are woven into the
very fabric of life, each one a vibrant thread in the
tapestry of tradition. In Naoussa, the Pirate Festival
is a raucous homage to the days when Barbary corsairs
prowled these waters. The streets become a stage,
actors reenacting the infamous attack of Barbarossa,
while fireworks split the night sky and music spills
into the early hours. Then there’s the Festival of
Trata in Parikia, where fishermen celebrate their craft
with feasting and storytelling, honouring the sea that
has given so much to this island. And in the village
of Prodromos, the Kleidonas Festival sees bonfires
blaze, their flames licking at the sky as revelers leap
through them, believing the fire will burn away the
 past year’s misfortunes.

 A STORY STILL UNFOLDING
Paros is a place that refuses to be confined to postcards
and travel brochures. It is a living, breathing island,
shaped by history, sculpted by the elements, and
carried forward by the people who call it home. It
is windmills and wood-fired bread, marble streets
and mountain villages, sunlit beaches and moonlit
festivals. It is a story still being written, with every
wave that kisses its shores, with every footstep that More than just a destination, Paros is a living canvas of history,
echoes through its villages. And if you listen closely, nature, and tradition—where every step uncovers a story, and every
you’ll hear it whispering to you, inviting you to be
part of its next chapter. • moment lingers like the Aegean breeze.
