HE KYKLOS Center
located in Piraeus near
the Neo Faliro metro
station, is an ambitious
cultural initiative by the
Dinos and Lia Martinos Foundation
(DLMF). Fully funded through pri-
vate resources, this new center aims
to become a civic, educational, and
artistic beacon in the Athens metro-
politan area. Its design is led by the
internationally acclaimed Renzo
Piano Building Workshop, in col-
laboration with Ayers Saint Gross
(Washington, DC), combining ar-
chitectural excellence with social
and environmental responsibility.
KYKLOS is envisioned as more than
a building—it is a cultural organ-
ism integrated into the urban and
social fabric. The structure will be
surrounded by a generous Mediter-
ranean garden, with 62% of the site
dedicated to green and open public
space, softening the boundary be-
tween the built environment and
the city. The architecture uses layers
of materials and vegetation to filter
sunlight and urban noise, creating
a contemplative yet connected at-
mosphere. The interior will house
permanent collections featuring
works from Africa, Oceania, and
other global cultures, alongside dy-
namic temporary exhibitions. Pro-
gramming will include lectures, film
screenings, and hybrid educational
initiatives that bridge physical and
digital experiences. The flexible lay-
out allows for the adaptive use of
space over time, ensuring continued
relevance. KYKLOS is designed to
invite people to slow down, engage,
and connect. It mixes indoor gal-
leries with open-air areas, encour-
aging interaction and discovery. It
is conceived not as an isolated ob-
ject, but as a porous, welcoming
civic platform—open to local res-
idents, students, and international
visitors alike. Slated for completion
in late 2028, KYKLOS will embody
DLMF’s vision: a sustainable, acces-
sible, and inclusive center for global
contemporary culture rooted in the
heart of Piraeus.

του ηλεκτρικού «Νέο Φάληρο», αποτελεί μια φιλόδοξη πολιτιστική πρωτοβουλία
του Ιδρύματος Ντίνου και Λίας Μαρτίνου (DLMF). Το έργο χρηματοδοτείται εξ
ολοκλήρου από ιδιωτικούς πόρους και αποσκοπεί στο να αποτελέσει έναν φάρο
πολιτισμού, παιδείας και συμμετοχής στο μητροπολιτικό τοπίο της Αθήνας. Ο
αρχιτεκτονικός σχεδιασμός έχει ανατεθεί στο διεθνώς αναγνωρισμένο γραφείο
Renzo Piano Building Workshop, σε συνεργασία με το αρχιτεκτονικό γραφείο
Ayers Saint Gross (Ουάσινγκτον, ΗΠΑ), συνδυάζοντας αρχιτεκτονική αριστεία με
κοινωνική και περιβαλλοντική υπευθυνότητα. Ο KYKLOS δεν αντιμετωπίζεται ως
